Dear Mr. Rowland,

The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention recently conducted a three day national meeting June 27-29 at the Courtyard Atlanta Decatur Hotel. Our national public health program, the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS), brought in health officials from 13 states for an orientation meeting. Based upon our meeting evaluations, all participants had very positive comments for the hotel and the location. They especially liked the fact that public transportation was so close by and many restaurants were within easy walking distance.

I especially wanted to let you know how impressed and pleased we were with the support we received during the meeting from Mr. Christopher Ervin and Mr. Jonathan Watson. They were professional, courteous and very accommodating. Both checked in before the meeting began each day to see if there was anything we needed as well as various times throughout the day. When there was an issue to be addressed, they took care of it immediately. We never had to make additional calls or follow-up. Having conducted many meetings over the years with CDC as well as when I was an instructor at the Emory University Medical School, I can tell you this kind of attention to detail makes all the difference in whether you have a successful meeting or not.

Once again, thank you for your support of our meeting. We will definitely consider you for future meetings and I can assure you I will recommend your hotel and meeting facilities to my other CDC colleagues as well.

Good afternoon Mr. Roling,

I just wanted to take this time to let you know your staff provided a flawless event for the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Decatur-DeKalb Chapter at our 10th Annual Pink and Black Ball Honoring Cancer Survivors. Everyone had the can do attitude and we had the best working relationship. I received just raved reviews about the event and how the staff was there to provide assistance. The pre-function room was beautifully setup with the open bar and uplights to add to the mood.

Please thank your team: Mr. Christopher Ervin who was there from early am to the event ended to make sure every aspect of the setup was to my satisfaction, Darius McNair, the catering manager for an outstanding job, the Captain and her staff for taking care of the service for the guest for the evening and they wee the best team. They all did a hercules job! This was the best event ever because you and your staff did an A+job that did not go unnoticed.

I really appreciated all you did to make our event a success and I look forward to continuing our partnership with the Marriott Courtyard Hotel.

Darius, I can not thank you enough for all you have done for me, Eye Physicians and Ann Yearwood our Practice Manager. You and the entire staff do an outstanding job, it is very much appreciated. Whitney,

I wanted to express the American College of Epidemiology’s profound appreciation to your hotel’s staff, especially Chris and John as well as the entire banquet staff, for their support and assistance during the ACE Annual Meeting this past weekend and Monday-Tuesday. Your team not only provided us with the meeting support we had requested, but also did some extra duties that we requested on site (taking lunch tickets, extra AV support, multiple turnarounds, extra ½ day for key speaker). This was especially helpful for us in light of the executive director’s recent incapacitation. And almost everyone did it cheerfully and willingly. My understanding was that everything was timely and the food was tasty and nicely presented, too!

Hey Whitney!

I just wanted to thank you so much for helping with my reunion. I also wanted you to pass on a message to the rest of your colleagues- from the people at the check in desk, to the housekeeping and maintenance staff, to the banquet manager and captain, and their waitstaff- that the service at Courtyard was ABOVE SUPERIOR - more than any hotel where I have stayed EVER!!! Thank you all for being so welcoming for the 4 days we were there! There was a lot going on that weekend..and my family felt like we still got the personal attention needed, as if we were the only ones there. The great customer service at Courtyard does not go unnoticed, and I just wanted to let everyone know how much we ( The Gipson/Gibsons) appreciated everything!

Dear Mr. Roling:

We would like to voice our appreciation for a “job well done” by your team in the planning, monitoring, and execution of the Sherman Family Reunion, 2016.

There are many layers to an organization that attributes to the overall success of that organization and yours is no different. Our experiences with Thomas Harrison, DOS followed by Whitney Moore was more than impressive. Her professionalism, knowledge of her audience, and attention to detail is impeccable. Whitney’s customer service was always efficient and done with complete competency in a timely manner. She understood the challenges of me working full time and being the facilitator of this task with family members unfamiliar with the intricate details of working in this industry.

Your front desk staff Monique Neath, Antoinette Malcom, and Chris James demonstrated proficiency when assisting my family securing, changing, and cancelling their room reservations. They also ensure that our guests received the benefits of staying at a Marriott by informing and having them signed up for the rewards program. Upon check out on Sunday all bills were correct and the process ran effortlessly.

Shenitra Freeman, the Banquet Captain and her staff were prompt and professional. Ms. Freeman went over the BEO onsite with me daily to make sure everything was to our specifications. The night of the banquet was made even more memorable when Ms. Freeman introduced herself to the family and asked them personally if everything was going well. The banquet servers Lloyd Powell, Ashley Dora, and Trudy Williams displayed a beautiful table and appreciated all of their efforts. The set-up accommodated everyone being feed expeditiously.

Being a member in this industry, one of the biggest complaints that we often hear is that people don’t enjoy hotel food. Your cook, Brett Westin, received a number of great comments on how the food’s temperature was hot and plentiful. The chicken was cooked to perfection and was nice and tender as well as the fish.

And finally, the unsung heroes of your organization are the many behind the scene personnel that we take for granted like the houseman and cleaning staff. Your team demonstrated that they our proud of the brand and that they are a family. Please thank of all them for us.

Finally, reputation and relationships are key in and to our trade. I will be sure to inform potential clients of the wonderful service and exceptional experience we received at your venue. I will continue to promote this property both privately (Batan/Wolfe Wedding-Sherman Family Reunion) and professionally (yearly sleeping room blocks and meeting space with CDC/DDT). I am looking forward to doing business with Thomas, Whitney and your entire group real soon.

Sweet 16 Celebration

March 27, 2014

Dear Sir:

This letter is presented to express my sincere appreciation to you and your staff for the professional and courteous service provided for my daughters Sweet 16 Celebration held at your location. Team members I wish to bring forward are:

  • Darius McNair (Sales Manager), his assistance in the planning was a great help to me.
  • Ahouha Jules (Banquet Captain), he met with me and my daughter prior to the event to assure her all would go well.
  • Cleaveland (Chef), presented himself to my family and checked on food, which was excellent, to make sure all was being set out and to his satisfaction.
  • Kenya Harper (Server), she was awesome, she made sure all guests were comfortable and all food service needs were met.
  • Muhassad Abed (Banquet Server), he was perfect, he and Kenya worked well together. They controlled the room as he maintained a good flow of traffic as guests got their food at the buffet.

I wish to express my sincere thanks to all the others who worked to make this event perfect. I will always be grateful for your service and professionalism.
